Raymond M. Wallace

April 19, 1922 — January 31, 2006

He has lived in Lawrence since 1983. He previously lived in Shawnee twenty years and Franklin County, Kansas, prior to joining the service. attended Ottawa schools. He was a railroad dispatcher for the Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe Railroad thirty-seven years, working out of Topeka and Kansas City, Kansas, retiring in 1983. Raymond served in the Army Air Corp during World War II in the early 1940`s. He was an aircraft mechanic serving in North Africa and European Theater. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #852 of Lawrence, and American Legion #327 of Shawnee. On October 5, 1946, Raymond was united in marriage with Wilma Duschesne in Ottawa. She preceded him in death in November of 1991. On April 16, 1994, Raymond was united in marriage with Lois Bushnell. They later divorced. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2006, with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 of Ottawa. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Wallace after 12:00 noon on Friday at the Dengel & Son Mortuary to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
