Raymond J. Boehm, 86, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at AdventHealth Ottawa. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, followed by a visitation for family and friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Interment 12:00 noon, at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 89th Terrace & Pflumm Road, Lenexa, Kansas 66215. Raymond was born November 8, 1932 in Lenexa, Kansas, the son of Charles and Anna (Hauser) Boehm. He lived in Johnson County moving in 1987 to Pomona, Kansas. In 2007, Raymond moved to Ottawa. He served in the United States Army. Raymond was united in marriage to Willena A. Simpson-Holloway May 29, 1981, in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Boehm; sister, Marjorie Hanser; twin brother, Robert and brothers, Edward, Clement and Lloyd Boehm. Survivors include sister-in-law, Catherine Boehm of Olathe; and several nieces and nephews. Raymond was a lifelong farmer/stockman. When he wasn’t farming, he enjoyed reading. Raymond loved being with his family especially his nieces and nephews. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family wishes to thank nieces, Barbara Boehm and Joyce Shipley for their dedication to Raymond’s well-being over the last seven years.
