Raymond Hoit Berckefeldt age 81, of Spring Hill, KS, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Assisted Lifestyles of Blackhawk. Raymond was born July 17, 1929 in Fredonia, KS the son of Ernst Richard Karl and Elizabeth (Jackson) von Berckefeldt. He served his country in the United States Army Signal Corp. He trained in Fort Monmouth, NJ, and was stationed in Guam. He worked as an electrician and was a fifty year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He worked many years in Alaska before returning to Kansas. Raymond retired and moved to California where he loved to sail and square dance. He is survived by his son Richard Ray Berckefeldt and wife Deborah, granddaughters, Amanda Berckefeldt and Tiffany Knaebel and husband Matt, three great grandchildren, Sean, Kaylie and Kaleb.
