Raymond C. Dunn

Raymond C. Dunn, 79, of Baldwin City, passed away from complications from Alzheimer’s surrounded by family Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Comfort Care Homes of Baldwin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church, 1018 Miami Street, Baldwin City. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, December 2, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City, Kansas, with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Raymond was born Tuesday, November 9, 1937, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Perry and Verna (Davison) Dunn. He was a near lifelong resident of Baldwin City. He graduated from Baldwin City High School with the class of 1955. Raymond served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1960 as a helicopter mechanic. Raymond was united in marriage to Sally S. Perry December 30, 1966, in Baldwin City. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his daughter, Corey Ann Dunn of Berryton; two brothers, Rupert D. Dunn of Overland Park, and Roderick H. Dunn and wife Dawn of Pueblo, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Verna Dunn; and brother, Richard Dunn. Raymond was a hard-working farmer with his brother Richard from 1960 to1985. In 1991, he became a custodian for Baldwin USD 348, retiring in December 2007. He enjoyed farming, yard work, and square dancing with the Ottawa Promenaders and Baldwin City Maple Leaf Circulators.
