Ray Cecil White, Jr., age 92, of Paola, Kansas, passed away February 22, 2015 at North Point Skilled Nursing in Paola. Ray was born March 31, 1922 at Kansas City, Kansas. He was the son of Ray C., Sr., and Eliza Helen (Copeland) White. He attended St. Thomas School in Kansas City, Kansas. He was called to serve his country with the United States Army. He served during World War II. He took grain samples at grain elevators and also was a delivery driver. Ray enjoyed hunting pheasant and quail and fishing. He was a breeder and trainer for hunting dogs, mostly English Setters. Ray played the bass in big bands and jazz bands. He loved to dance and even competed in dance competitions winning trophies several times. Ray also gave dance lessons. He loved art and attended Kansas City Art Institute. He was an outstanding photographer capturing the true emotions of many family members with his photography. Ray had spent time with the monks in his earlier years which brought about his love of nature and devotion to God. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola. He was a very active member of the St. Thomas Church in Kansas City, Kansas in his younger years. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters Betty Michalski, Rosie Drew, and Mary White. He is survived by his sister Donna (White) Wolfe of Spring Hill, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
