Ray W. Eble, age 81, of Louisburg, Kansas, died October 7, 2008. He was born on January 18, 1927 at Olathe, Kansas, the son of George and Fern Hayne Eble. Ray worked for the United State Post Office before retiring. He then devoted his time to his Christmas tree acreage north of Louisburg. Ray served in the United States Army during WW II. He was a life lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and member of the Louisburg VFW. He was a member of the Louisburg United Methodist Church and a member of both the National & Kansas Christmas Tree Growers Association for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maralyn, in January 1997, and one infant son, Gregory. Survivors include his wife of 5 years,, Kathlene, Louisburg, KS.; his daughter, Diane and husband Lynn Schoening; Sabetha, KS.; his son Douglas and wife Glenda Eble, of Louisburg, KS.; step-children, Vincent and wife Sue Glass of Clermont, Iowa; Gregory & wife Cheryl Glass, Paso Roblos, CA.; and Kila & husband Arlen Nuehring, Monona, Iowa; 1 brother, George & wife Helen Eble, Osawatomie, KS.; 1 sister, Jane Switack, Lake Forest, CA.; 2 granddaughters, Ally Heller and Amanda Benson; 2 great grandsons, Geoffrey & Caleb Heller, 1 great grandchild due in February 2009; 10 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild due in February 2009. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Penwell Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Louisburg, Kansas. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery.
