Randy Ray Russell, 43, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022, at his home.
A family visitation will be held to celebrate Randy’s life from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
Randy was born September 20, 1979, in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Johnny Stewart and Lynette Russell.
He lived in Ottawa the last 20 years moving from Eudora, Kansas.
Randy was a lifelong carpenter and the owner operator of Russell Construction specializing in residential framing.
Randy was united in marriage to Sara Ball on October 17, 2009, in Ottawa. She survives of the home with their three children, Peyton Ball, Greyson Russell and Brynnleigh Russell.
He is also survived by his father and stepmother Johnny and Julie Stewart of Eudora, Kansas; mother, Lynette Russell also of Eudora; sister, Mishaun Evans of Ottawa; brothers, Chauncey Russell (Tori Tunget) of Colorado and Grant Stewart (Madeline Lamons) of Hilo, Hawaii; maternal grandmother, Linda Sue Stephens of Eudora and paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Stewart of Branson, Missouri.
Randy was very much a family man and loved attending family gatherings and watching his children’s activities. He enjoyed watching KU basketball, camping trips to the lake, summers spent with his kids in the pool in the backyard and the smell of a campfire. In his younger years he was a competitive motocross racer and had the time of his life traveling the country watching his son race some of the same tracks he put so many laps on as a young kid.
Contributions to an education fund for Randy’s children would be greatly appreciated by the family.
