Randy Rex Pearce

Randy Rex Pearce, 68, of Paola, passed away on January 26, 2025 at Olathe Medical Hospice House surrounded by those who loved him. 

He was born on July 24, 1956, to James and Lillian (Achey) Pearce in Paola, KS. He was one of eleven children. 

Randy worked as a Store Keeper for the Osawatomie State Hospital for more than 5 years. He also worked for the Spring Hill Glass plant when it was formerly known as AFG, as well as delivering and installing appliances in his younger years. 

On May 30, 2000, he married Lois Pearce (Lile). Randy and Lois made their home in rural Paola in 1995. To this marriage, Randy became the father to Justin and Ross Hiser, who he was proud to be able to be apart of their lives and watch them grow. 

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle's. Randy loved to spend his time fishing for catfish, listening to music, such as Oldie's, Gospel, and Classic Rock. He also enjoyed playing pool where he participated in tournaments and was also on a bowling league. Randy was an avid roller skater as a young man. With his family and friends, they enjoyed playing with CB radios in a game almost like hide and seek. Randy loved getting to teach the younger generation about the things he was interested in and loved doing. He also gave back to his community by regularly donating blood, which amounted to the total of 12 gallons.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Lois Pearce, step-son, Justin Hiser, brothers, Michael, Leonard, and Bruce Pearce, sisters, Nancy Facteau and Debbie Brewer, as well as a half-sister, Tina McKinley. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Stanley Pearce, mother, Lillian Nadine Pearce, brothers, Lloyd and Gary Pearce, sisters, Mary Jane Dillard and Joann Facteau, and step-son, Ross Hiser.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Februrary 1, 2025, beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Paola Cemetery.
