Randy Davis

Randy Lee Davis, age 59, of Hillsdale, Kansas, died May 10, 2014 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Randy was born July 29, 1954 at Sparta, Missouri. He was the son of Floyd Carl and Leota Lucille (Inman) Davis. He attended school at Louisburg, Kansas. Randy was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Janet Markley. Randy and Janet actually met in the 8th grade and dated through high school. They were married March 25, 1972 at Spring Hill, Kansas in the Spring Hill Baptist Church. They made their home in Louisburg for a short time before moving to Hillsdale. They have lived at Hillsdale since 1973. They became the parents of two children. They were also foster parents of many other children throughout the years. The majority of his life he had worked in an automobile body shop painting vehicles. Randy worked at Cottonwood School in Paola since 2006. The staff at Cottonwood had been very good to him sending him cards and notes every week for the past year. The principal and teachers were wonderful and he loved all the little kids. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, and house remodeling. Randy thoroughly enjoyed being a foster parent. He was very fond of his canine companion, a 16 year old dachshund "Lilly". He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronnie and Raymond, and a sister Laverne. He is survived by his wife Janet of the home; his children Ryan (Ashley) Davis of Paola and Jessica Davis of the home; Jessica"s boyfriend Royal Cheuvront; his brother Rick Davis of Raytown, Missouri; two granddaughters Alayna and Chloe Davis; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Miami County Cancer Foundation or Stilwell Baptist Church.
