Ramah Lucille Swank

Ramah Lucille Swank, age 82, of Centropolis, Kansas, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013. She was born on October 26, 1930, in Franklin County, Kansas, the daughter of Bertrum and Agnes (McCann) Stoffer. Ramah moved with her family to Rantoul and then Ottawa while she was still in school, to Princeton after marriage and then to Centropolis in 1958. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1949. On October 25, 1953 Ramah was united in marriage with Roy Edgar Swank in Ottawa, Kansas. He survives of the home. Ramah was a lifelong homemaker and also worked as a waitress at the North American Hotel in the 1940’s; bookkeeper at Ottawa Finance in the 1940’s; waitress at Lee’s Downtowner in the 1940’s; clerk at Woolworths Department Store in the 1970’s and 1980’s; assembly person at Parmelee Industries in the 1980’s and assembly person at Brahler Productions in Lawrence in the 1980’s. She was a member of the Richter United Methodist Church. She is survived by her: Husband – Edgar Swank of the home Son – Royce Swank and his wife Debbie of Centropolis Son – Derek Swank and his wife Lisa of Waverly Son – Perrie Swank and his wife Kristina of Pomona Foster daughter – Sherri Wilson of Ottawa Grandchildren – Samantha Lefert and her husband Loran, Scott Swank, Emily Swank, Philip Swank, Allison Swank, and Meredith Swank. Great-grandson – Roper Lefert Sister – Bernice Nigh and her husband Gayle of Blue Jacket, Oklahoma Sister – Mona Whiteford of Texas Many nieces and nephews She is preceded in death by her: Son – Garney Lee Swank Parents – Bertrum and Agnes Stoffer Sister – Emma Gregg Sister – Opal Smith Brother – Merle Stoffer SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 22, 2013. VISITATION: The family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary, from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday, March 21, 2013.
