Ralph Fredrick Snider, 74, of Ottawa, passed away, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. His wishes were to be cremated. Family will meet with friends to celebrate his life from 6:00 P.M. to 8 P.M., Friday, April 30, 2021 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Ralph was born Friday, October 11, 1946 in Oceanside, California, the son of Roy Lawson and June Annie (Wesson) Snider. He lived in Osawatomie, Kansas for many years, moving to Ottawa in 2005 from Liberty, Missouri. Ralph was united in marriage to Carol Lang in 1971 at Osawatomie, Kansas. They had three children. They later divorced. He was later united in marriage to Laura (Parker) Huggard July 29, 2006 at Ottawa. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roy Dolan Snider. Survivors include his wife, Laura; children, Marcy Victor (Steve) of Mapleton, Kansas, Chad Snider of Parker, Kansas and Holly Byerley (Dane) of Garnett, Kansas; brother, Danny Snider (Nonie) of Paola, Kansas; five grandchildren, Andrew Victor (Akasha) of Lawrence, Madison Snider, Alice Snider both of Osawatomie, Noah Byerley and Finnegan Byerley, both of Garnett. Ralph was employed as a conductor for Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1971 which was later bought out by Union Pacific Railroad. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 2004. He was a classic car enthusiast. He was a member of the Late Great Chevy’s and Golden Oldies car clubs of Kansas City and Classic Cruisers of Miami County. Ralph enjoyed his classic cars including his 1966 El Camino SS and would D.J. playing music for car cruises and shows. He also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
