Rachelle Irene Brady, 60, Paola, Kansas passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Miami County Medical Center. She was born February 9, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Harold Lee Brady and Virginia Schwein Brady. She grew up in the Paola area and attended First Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Paola High School in 1973. Rachelle dedicated her career to caring for others. She worked for many years at Country Haven Nursing Home in Paola. In 1991 she began working for Lakemary Center in Olathe where she loved working with the adults she helped mentor. Miss Brady was a member of the First Lutheran Church but had recently been attending Cross Point Assembly of God in Paola. Rachelle enjoyed spending time with her family and friends traveling and going to the casinos. She loved music and pop culture. She was an avid Elvis and Beetles fan. She attended many concerts and loved music of all kinds. She loved watching movies and attending Starlight and dinner theatres. She was a collector who always knew the latest trends. She also loved sports and cheered for the Royals, Chiefs, and Jayhawks. Those preceding her in death are her mother, Virginia Schwein Brady, and her step-mother Hazel Light Smiley Brady. She is survived by her father Harold of Paola; step sister Claudia Smiley-Allen of Texas; step brothers Charles Smiley and James Smiley of Denver, CO; aunt Mildred Dysart of Garnett, KS and many nieces and nephews, Thelma Little of Yuma, AZ, Larry Pevler of Buford, GA, Greg Butler of Ottawa, KS, Dave Butler of Wichita, KS, Jerry Trageser and Cheryl Trageser of Paola, KS, Renea Hammett of Stilwell, KS, Stanley Brady of Clearwater, KS; and her best friend and roommate of 25 years Beverly Castor Howard, of the home.
