Phyllis L. Knight

Phyllis L. Knight, 86, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at her home in Princeton, Kansas. Cremation is planned with services being held at a later date. Phyllis was born Tuesday, March 12, 1929, in Melvern, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur and Pearl (Son) Boyer. She was a lifelong Princeton resident, graduating from Princeton High School with the class of 1947. Phyllis was united in marriage with William Welch June 1, 1947, in Ottawa. He preceded her in death March 17, 1981. She married Robert Knight February 14, 1997, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He preceded her in death May 18, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Reddell Boyer; and granddaughter, Kelly Record. Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Bischoff and husband, Truyn of Williamsburg, and Lori Keffer and husband, George of Lawrence; stepdaughter, Jennifer Garcia Knight of Tuxpan, Veracruz Mexico; sister, Eloise Faden and husband, Charles of Lenexa; brother, Gary Boyer and wife, Rita of Seagrove, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Tami Hoffner and husband, Ralph of Bayfield, Colorado, Darren Bischoff and companion, Susan Weber of Ottawa, Andrew Record of Olathe, Bailey Record of Lenexa, and Gabriel Garcia Knight of Tuxpan, Veracruz Mexico; and two great grandchildren, Angelina and Josilyn Hoffner of Bayfield, Colorado. Phyllis was a lifelong homemaker. She also drove a flag car for Bendix Mobile Homes in the 1960’s, and worked for Pence’s I.G.A., doing clerical work, in the late 1970’s to late 1980’s. She attended Princeton United Methodist Church. Phyllis was very family oriented. She loved spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed crossword puzzles. The family suggests memorial contributions to Midland Care Hospice c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
