Phillip E. Pritchard, 86, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at AdventHealth Ottawa. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, February 21, 2022, at Centropolis Christian Church, 1104 Barnes Ave., Ottawa, with masonic services by Palmyra Lodge 23, A.F. & A.M. of Baldwin City, Kansas. A dinner will be provided by the church family following the service. All are encouraged to come down and join the family for some food and fellowship. Private inurnment to be held later at Sutton Cemetery, Douglas County, Kansas. Phillip was born May 1, 1935, at Ottawa, the son of Paul and Lucy (Hazen) Pritchard. On September 6, 1958, Phillip was united in marriage to Dorothy Drum in Babenhausen, Germany. After being discharged from the Army, he and his family moved to Baldwin City, where they resided until 1985, when they relocated to Hurst, Texas. In 2000, Phil and Dorothy moved to Pomona, Kansas, where he made his home until his death. He attended Ottawa schools receiving his GED in the service. Phillip served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963. Phillip was employed at Hallmark Cards as a machine operator and lead supervisor in production for 17 years, retiring in 1985. In Texas, he worked for several print companies. He was a member of the Centropolis Christian Church; Palmyra Lodge 23, A.F. & A.M. of Baldwin City; and Pomona Lions Club. Phillip loved his family and grandchildren and the time they spent together. When he and Dorothy weren’t fishing, he would be found in his shop building something with wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Esther Lantis and Alice Valentine, and brother, Bill Pritchard. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Pritchard of the home; three children, Rick Pritchard (Jayme) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Marilyn Wedel (Clark) of Haven, Kansas, and Debi Sweet (Brian) of Chapman, Kansas; two siblings, Jim Pritchard of Ottawa, and Ruth Eichman of Taunton, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Megan Hett (Jared), Brett Pritchard (Aubrey), Reese Wedel (Courtney), Cooper Wedel, Conner Pritchard (Jaden), Chandler Sweet, and Abby Sweet (Luke); and five great grandchildren. Also suffering his loss is his best friend, his border collie Belle. The family suggests memorial contributions to Centropolis Christian Church or Sutton Cemetery c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
