Phasith Xaopaxa, age 58, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on Tuesday, April 7, 1953, in Savannakhet, Laos, the son of Kong and Ky Xaopaxa. He has been a resident of Ottawa since 1980, moving from Providence, Rhode Island. Phasith graduated from high school and technical vocational schools in Laos. He also graduated from Kansas City Technical College. Since 2004, he worked as a machinist for Taylor Forge Company in Paola, Kansas. He had previously worked as a machinist for Skyhook Corporation of Ottawa for twenty years. He attended Buddha Temple in Olathe and Church of the Brethren in Ottawa. On Thursday, May 14, 1981, Phasith was united in marriage with Souvanna Anonthysene in Ottawa, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is survived by his: Wife-Souvanna Xaopaxa of the home Son-Pabou Xaopaxa of the home Sister-Nith Thiravong of Atlanta, Georgia Sister-Souphy Thiravong and her husband Kongkham of Austin, Minnesota He is preceded in death by his: Parents-Kong and Ky Xaopaxa SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011. IN STATE: Mr. Xaopaxa will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Saturday where the family will meet with friends from 2:00 to 3:00 prior to services.
