Perry Cook Franks

Perry Cook Franks, age 94, of Richmond, Kan., died Monday, December 29, 2003, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kan. . He was the son of the late Thomas Franks and the late Sarah (Skammy) Franks. At the age of three, Perry moved from Montana to Iowa. When he was ten, he moved to Missouri and, in the late 1930's, to Ottawa. Perry attended schools in Iowa and Arkansas and one year in Ottawa. He did a variety of jobs including working as sexton of Middleboro, Massachusettes City Cemetery seven years. He was also a farmhand for several farmers around Franklin County. In 1938, Perry was united in marriage with Joyce Bell at Lawrence, Kansas. They were later divorced. In 1944, he married Mary E. Coombes at Ottawa. She preceded him in death in 1977. SERVICES: Private family services will be held at a later date. IN STATE: Mr. Franks has been cremated.
