Peggy Darlene Weekley was born Thursday, December 17, 1936, in Baldwin City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Carl and Charlene (Ledom) Yohe. Peggy lived in Ottawa for several years, moving to Topeka in 1972. In 1982, Peggy moved to Auburn, Kansas, where she made her home, until her death Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at the age of sixty-eight years. Peggy attended Ottawa High School. She was a homemaker. She also worked for Ottawa Head Start Program in the late 1960's, and was District Manager for House of Lloyd Toy Company in Topeka in the early 1970's. She was a member of Town & Country Church of Christ in Ottawa. Peggy was an outgoing, happy person, who enjoyed making other people happy. She enjoyed bowling with her friends on leagues in Topeka, and square dancing with several square dance clubs. She also created beautiful ceramic items. A loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and grandchildren. On March 14, 1969, Peggy was united in marriage with Don Weekley in Ottawa. He survives of their home. She is also survived by two daughters and their husbands, Debra and Michael Kille of Wichita Falls, Texas, Dianne and Tom Plemons of Topeka, Kansas, two sons and their wives, Darrell & Karen Weekley of Topeka, Phillip and Kateri Criqui of St. Mary's, Kansas; four stepdaughters and their husbands, Donna Jones of Wawaka, Indiana, Brenda and Wes Staton of Ligonier, Indiana, Ramona and Andy Long of Ligonier, Teresa and Mark Johnston of Topeka; two sisters, Maxine Bond and her husband, Leonard, of Ottawa, Karen Hadsell, of Ottawa; twenty-one grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Weekley is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Connie Colleen Shadwick; and two sisters, Beverly Bond and Delma Mason. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Weekley at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Friday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7:30 to 8:30 Friday evening.
