Payton Alexander Schwane

April 29, 2004 — December 18, 2006

Payton Alexander Schwane was born on Thursday, April 29, 2004, in Overland Park, Kansas. He was the son of Russelle and Melissa (Kirkland) Schwane. Payton and his family lived in Pomona, Kansas, moving to Watertown, Wisconsin four months ago, where he made his home until his death on Monday, December 18, 2006, due to complications from a seizure, at the age of two and one-half years. Payton received service from 'Three Lakes Education' and continued with 'Birth to Three' in Wisconsin, which were programs for his therapy. Payton was a wonderful little boy. He had fun fishing with Daddy, feeding ducks with Mommy, and riding 'shotgun' on the 4-wheeler. He was always able to put a smile on people's faces, because he loved people and never knew a stranger! He greatly enjoyed spending time with Aunt 'Kimmy' and Uncle 'BaBa', and Joshua and Dustin Ferris held a special place in Payton's heart. He was such a joy to so many. His life was dedicated to Jesus in August of 2006. He is survived by his parents of the home; grandfather, Richard Schwane of Ixonia, Wisconsin; grandmother, Cecelia Kirkland of Surprise, Arizona; aunts and uncles, Kimberly and Phil Ferris of Pomona, Kansas, Rhonda and Gary Pearson of Surprise, Arizona, Desiree and Josh Haen of Luxemburg, Wisconsin, Clinton Schwane of Ixonia, Wisconsin; cousins, Joshua and Dustin Ferris, both of Pomona, Kansas, Ashley Thielman and her husband, Ian, of Mesa, Arizona, Lydia Haen of Luxemburg, Wisconsin, Jason Pearson of Surprise, Arizona; and Godparents, Bryan and Michelle Johnson of Overbrook, Kansas. He is preceded in death by grandfather, Ronnie Kirkland; grandmother, Sheryl Casady; and two great-grandmothers, Imogene Nickel and Josephine Workman. Payton will live on in the hearts of family and friends forever. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Assembly of God Church in Pomona at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2006. IN STATE: Payton will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa after 1:00 p.m. Friday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7:00 to 8:00 Friday evening. CEMETERY: Woodlawn Cemetery in Pomona, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Payton Schwane Memorial Fund, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
