Pauline Mabel Wright

She attended Muncie and Louisburg schools and graduated from rural Harmony School in 1924. Pauline worked four or five years at Osawatomie State Hospital until 1957; a clerk at Davis Paint Store in Ottawa from 1957 until 1963; and ten years at Irwin`s Gift Shop, also in Ottawa, from 1963 until retiring in 1973. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women; Hope Society; the Lend a Hand Sunday School Class; and, Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; Social Order of the Beauceant serving as President in 1965; and Retta Conclave #8 Order of True Kindred, serving as Worthy Commander in 1972. She was a former member of Ottawa Assembly #136 and Union Chapter #15 Order of Eastern Star. Pauline enjoyed participating in the organizations she belonged to and working in the gift shop at Ransom Memorial Hospital while a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and working crossword puzzles. She loved teddy bears and enjoyed the many different ones Charlotte gave her over the years. On August 25, 1930, Pauline was united in marriage with William Jonas Wright at Paola, Kansas. He preceded her in death August 1, 1975. Also, preceding her in death are her parents; three brothers, Norman She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Werth and her husband, Marshall, of Ottawa; brother Glenn Ray of St. Louis, Missouri; granddaughter, Allison Ann Werth of Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa, 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, June 26, 2001. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Francis Stockton. IN STATE: Mrs. Wright will lie in state from 3 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, and, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, at the Dengel & Son Mortuary, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:00 Monday evening.
