Paul T. "Obe" Obermeier, age 60, of Osawatomie, Kansas passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Paul was born January 28, 1957 at Paola, Kansas. He was the third of six children born to Harry C. and Mary A. (Wolken) Obermeier. He grew up and attended school in Osawatomie. Paul and Vickie Robertson were married January 25, 1975 at Paola. They made their home in Osawatomie and became the parents of three children, Jason, Katrina, and McKinzie. Paul worked for Taylor Forge as an overhead crane operator. His employment record with Taylor Forge lasted 29 years. He worked there from January 14, 1976 until April 22, 2005 when his employment ended due to his health. He was vice president of Boilermakers Union Local 84 for two years and then president for six years. Paul enjoyed fishing and hunting, driving his golf cart around, back gammon, playing cards, horse shoe pitching, playing the game washers, napping, and mowing for everyone. He was known for his pyrotech antics as he shot fireworks year round. Hanging out with his grandkids was his favorite pastime. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Patricia who died at birth, and step-father Jess Bolling. He is survived by his wife Vickie of the home; his son Jason of Osawatomie; his two daughters Katrina McCoy (Jeremy) of Paola and McKinzie of the home; 5 grandchildren Alexandria, LeAnn, Andrew, Collin, and Wyatt; two brothers Ed Obermeier (Anita) of Paola (Somerset) and David Obermeier of Iowa; two sisters Elizabeth Dunsworth (John) of Grove, OK and Mary Johns of Lane, KS; many other relatives and friends. A private inurnment will take place at a later date in the Osawatomie Cemetery.
