Paul Nunez

Paul Nunez was born on Friday, June 30, 1972, in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. He was the son of Eliseo, Sr. and Magdalena (Gomez) Nunez. Paul was a near lifelong Ottawa resident, moving to Ft. Worth, Texas in 1998 and Olathe, Kansas in 2000, where he made his home until his death on Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at the age of thirty-four years. Paul graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1990 and attended University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. He graduated in 1998 from Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas, with a Computer Science Associates Degree. He was employed nine years as a signal technician for Burlington-Northern-Santa Fe Railroad. He was well known in the Ottawa community. In his younger years, he was employed at Country Mart, Apple Market and Kentucky Fried Chicken. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa and Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman. Paul collected and restored classic arcade machines. Was an accomplished computer wizard and technology buff. He loved soccer, Chiefs football, KU basketball and sci-fi movies. He loved life, his wife and family, including his two cats. He was never afraid of trying something new. Paul will be missed by all who ever met him. On April 12, 2006, Paul was united in marriage with Jill Bustillo in Olathe, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is also survived by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Lyndon Jordan; brother, Eliseo Nunez, Jr.; and brother and sister-in-law, Moises and Dori Nunez, all of Ottawa. SERVICES: A Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Nunez at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, where a Rosary will be said at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, followed by family visitation from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
