Paul. L Harrison, age 83, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at home with his family present. Born January 26, 1941, to Chester “Chet” and Mary Elizibeth Harrison nee Gore-Chrestensen in Warren, Ohio, as they were traveling home to Kansas City from a job Chet had recently finished elsewhere.
Paul grew up in Roeland Park, Kansas. He attended High School at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri, where he graduated in 1959 and went on to receive his B.A at Baker University in 1963. He enlisted in the United States AirForce Reserve in 1964, and served on a flight crew for C-124 Globemaster II cargo planes at Richards-Gebaur AirForce Base in Grandview, Missouri.
He met his wife Virginia nee Sheeds (d. Mar. 26, 2020) in 1966, and were Married in 1967, at St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Paul, being Presbyterian and Virgina, Catholic, they had a dual wedding, meaning a full Catholic and Presbyterian ceremony took place. A rare occurrence as marriages between Catholics and other denominations were not common at that time.
Professionally, Paul was in sales, specifically hydraulic equipment for electrical line construction, where he worked with and for some of the pioneers in mobile hydraulic equipment. He continued in that line of work until his full retirement from Brooks Brothers Trailers in 2023, where he maintained a close relationship with many people at utilities and Rural Electrical Co-ops in the Midwest region.
Paul is survived by his two sons Douglas and Scott Harrison. Doug’s wife Jami and their three children Justin, Cameron, and Parker Harrison. Their wives Christina, Rachael, and Hailey. Paul was also the proud grandfather of three great-grandchildren. Emma, Landon, and Colter, respectively.
