Patty Jean Gentry, 92, of Waverly, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Sunset Manor of Waverly.
A private family inurnment will be held later at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg.
Patty was born March 11, 1930, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Clyde and Ruth (Decker) Todd.
She lived in Williamsburg, Kansas for forty years; Cheney, Kansas ten years; Loveland, Colorado fifteen years; also went to Mesa, Arizona for the winters; before moving to Waverly, Kansas where she has lived for the last twenty-five years.
She graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1948.
In July 1948, Patty was united in marriage to Arthur “Ernie” Gentry at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2010.
Patty was a devoted homemaker. For 10 years, in the early 1970’s to early 1980’s, Patty and Ernie were the owner/operators of the Cheney Marina, Cheney, Kansas.
She was a former member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church; member of Waverly Methodist Church; Ottawa Promenaders Square Dance Club; EHU (Extension Homemakers Unit); President of Mesa Village Residents Group; and the Williamsburg Fair Committee.
She enjoyed painting, reading, square dancing, traveling, visiting with friends and family, and hosting card parties with friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Ruth Todd; son Donald Gentry; daughter Nona Heady; sister Phyllis Blythe; grandson Ernie Wulf; and granddaughter Gwenaviere Willis.
Survivors include two children, Clyde Gentry and wife Lorri of Waverly, and Donna Wulf and husband Brad of Elkhorn, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
