Patsy "Pat" Ruth Collins

Patsy Ruth “Pat” Collins, age 82, of Ottawa , Kansas , died at her home on Monday, September 5, 2011. She was born on Thursday, March 21, 1929, in Marshfield , Missouri , the daughter of Frank LeRoy and Emma Hilda (Larson) Addington. She grew up in Herrington , Kansas , moving to Ottawa in 1947. Patsy graduated from Herrington High School with the class of 1946, attended Ottawa University for one year, and graduated from Stewart’s Beauty Academy in Salina , Kansas . Pat worked as a beautician at Foote’s Beauty Shop for two years, Southwestern Bell for thirteen years and State of Kansas as an interviewer for personnel at the Job Service Center in Ottawa for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. On Tuesday, November 21, 1950, Patsy was united in marriage with William Henry Collins in Ottawa , Kansas . He preceded her in death on August 31, 2002. She is survived by her: Nephew-Roger Swearengen of Kalispell , Montana and a Niece-Jeanne Dagenette of Williamsburg , Kansas. She is preceded in death by her: Husband-William Henry Collins; Parents-Frank LeRoy and Emma Hilda Addington; Sister-Betty Swearengen and a Brother-Ed Addington SERVICES: Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 401 W. 13th Street in Ottawa at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 12th, 2011.
