Patsy May "Pat" Elder-Hutchcraft, 82, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 28, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the mortuary. Interment at Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul. Pat was born December 10, 1939, in Jerico Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Lester and Ethel May (Felty) Pyle. She grew up and attended school in Jerico Springs. In 1955, Pat moved to Franklin County where she made her home. On May 22, 1955, Pat was united in marriage with Alfred R. Finch at Rantoul, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1978. On February 15, 1980, Pat was united in marriage with Donald William Elder at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2012. On November 17, 2013, she was married to Douglas Hutchcraft at Betty Kirkland’s farm in Princeton, Kansas. He survives of their home. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ethel Pyle-Hyder; son, LeRoy J. “Joey” Finch; half-brother, Linville Pyle; half-sister, Dorothy Beydler; son, Donald W. Elder; daughter, Nina Faye Yohe; and grandson, Richard Lee Stottlemire. Survivors include her sons, Michael Finch of Rantoul, Kansas, Christopher “Chris” Elder and Robert (Liz) Elder all of Boliver, Missouri; daughters, Waunita Dent of Ottawa and Patricia (Tim) Coffman of Summersville, West Virginia; brother, Leo Pyle of Ottawa and sister, Jeraldine “Deanie” Hyder of Nevada, Missouri; six grandchildren, Melvin (Sherry) Parrett, Jennifer Finch, Diane Stottlemire, Chasity Finch, Jeffrey Finch and Joshua (Morgan) Finch; 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Pat worked in environmental services at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa from 1981 until retiring in the early 2000’s. She was a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church. She loved to travel, camp, tend to her flower gardens and spend time outdoors. Family and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she always looked forward to the time they spent together.
