Patricia Elaine Erickson, 85, a loving wife and mother, devoted Christian, beloved soul and member of her community, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at Vintage Park of Paola. Born December 17, 1939, in Minden, Nebraska, to John and Hattie Marie Anderson, Pat touched the lives of many through her unwavering spirit and compassionate heart.
She held many administrative positions in both government and non-governmental jobs, showcasing her commitment to service and excellence. Beyond her professional life, she was an embodiment of kindness and generosity, reflecting her strong values in everything she believed in.
She and her husband, Marland, were members of the First Baptist Church in Paola, where she enjoyed singing and volunteering in missions and children’s ministries. She actively participated in a coffee group that met weekly at Paola Vintage Park as well as a walking group of church friends that could be seen treading the aisles of Walmart each week. Additionally, she volunteered at the Miami County Kansas Historical Museum in Paola, took part in the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) organization, reinforcing her dedication to both history and the community.
A woman of many talents, she enjoyed quilting and cake decorating. She also loved helping her husband in their flower garden. Together, they created a nurturing home where friends were welcome, family reunions were lovingly organized, and they left behind cherished memories for all who knew and loved them.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Kim (Brad) Miller; her sons, Kevin (Lynne) Erickson and Randy (Brandi) Erickson; her adoring grandchildren, Corinne, Nathan, Jenna (Ben), and Emma; her brother, Roger (Pat) Anderson, her sister-in-law, Beverly Anderson (Verlin-deceased); and many nieces and nephews. These family members will carry forward her legacy of love, dedication, and compassion for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marland Erickson, her parents, three brothers, and six sisters. Pat's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, dedication, and a genuine care for others, which will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during her visitation on March 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Dengel & Son Mortuary-Paola Chapel 305 N. Pearl St. Paola, KS 66071.
Patricia Elaine Erickson will be remembered fondly, and her memory will remind us to love others as God loves them and to embrace challenges with grace knowing that we are not walking through them alone.
