Patricia Anne 'Pat' Lawler was born November 10, 1940, in Orville, Ohio. She was the daughter of Luther Earl and Betty Eileen (Frey) Durst. Pat grew up in Harlingen, Texas and resided in Rockport, Corpus Christi and Kingsville, all in Texas. She also lived outside Parkville, Missouri; in Downers Grove, Illinois; Wichita, Kansas; Austin, Texas; Raytown, Missouri and Paola, Kansas, before moving to Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas, in October of 2001, where she made her home until her death Thursday, December 26, 2002, at the age of sixty-two years. She attended schools in Harlingen, Texas. Pat was a homemaker. She also ran a cake decorating business out of her home while living in Parkville, Missouri. She was a member of the Episcopal faith. Pat enjoyed creating various craft items and designing and making Barbie doll clothes, as she was an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed collecting dolls, watching classic movies, and reading. Pat had a great love for dogs, especially Janie and Punkin. Pat's last companion, her beloved Pi, brought great joy to her in her final years. In 1956, Pat was united in marriage with Richard Dale Berens. He preceded her in death in March of 1963. On January 10, 1965, she was united in marriage with C. Gregory Nuckles. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1967. On April 10, 1969, she married Robert Lee Lawler. They were later divorced. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Jean Agha and her husband, Jameel, of Paola, Kansas, Loretta Eileen Fabling and her husband, Bob, of Houston, Texas, Dolores Denise Nuckles of Rockport, Texas; two sons, Richard Thomas Nuckles and his wife, Michelle, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, Keith Morgan Lawler and his wife, Lyrka, of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers, Richard Earl Durst and his wife, Pam, of Llano, Texas, David Allen Durst of Florida; sister, Loraine Elizabeth Palmer and her husband, Paul, of Zachary, Louisiana; seventeen grandchildren, Jamie, Corey, Parker, Deke, Ashlee, Mike, Jay, Ali, Jafar, Ibrahim, Husain, Sakeena, Jamie, Gregg, Sean, Caleb, Anais; and, two great grandchildren, Madelyn and Elizabeth. She is preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2002, at Grace Episcopal Church, Ottawa. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Denis B. Ford. IN STATE: Mrs. Lawler has been cremated. CEMETERY: Private inurnment services will be held at a later date.
