Patricia Ann Wiggins was born July 1st, 1932 at Williamsburg in Franklin County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Jay L. and Bessie M. (Bumps) Doty. She was a lifelong resident of the Williamsburg and Ottawa areas until her death, March 27th, 1997 at the age of sixty-four years. Pat graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1950. Following her high school graduation she was employed as a secretary at the Topeka State House. During the 1950's following her marriage she was employed as secretary for the Lesh Oil Company of Ottawa. She was a member of the First Baptist Church; member of the Ottawa Country Club where she had served on the board of directors and a member and past president of the Ottawa Women's Golf Association; a volunteer for the Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; a member of the Ottawa Garden Club and the Entre Nous; a member of the Extension Homemakers Unit, all of Ottawa. She was a former member and Girl Scout Leader of a local Ottawa troop. An avid golfer, Pat was an Ottawa Women's Golf Club Champion and had 2 holes-in-one a few years ago. She and Bob enjoyed playing golf together and socializing with other club members. As a homemaker, she decorated with style and was an excellent cook, but first and foremost, she took care of her family's needs. Nothing meant more to her than her husband, children and grandchildren. She was so proud of them. Pat always had an eye for beauty and she especially enjoyed the beauties of nature. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and doing yard work. This was her special time to reflect on her family and life in general. She also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. On May 27th, 1951, she was united in marriage with Robert F. Wiggins at Ottawa. He survives of their home. Also surving are two sons, R. Michael Wiggins of Delray Beach'Florida, Jon P. Wiggins and his wife Theresa of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Diana FR. Hill and Rob Hill, both~ of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Hayden M. Wiggins of Ottawa; three sisters, lmogene Doty of Baldwin City, Willa Spencer of Quenemo, and Arlene Grimm of Everett, Washington; and a brother, Lyle Doty of Quenemo. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter, Teri Lynn Wiggins, October 21st, 1996, and four sisters, Lois Colley in 1996, Frances Reiner in 1980, Doris Caple in 1976 and Phyllis Boydston in 1956. Services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 1997, at 2:00 PM at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Rev. Henry Robertrs, Jr. will be officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery on Tuesday, March 29, 1997 at 3:00pm. Memorials can be sent to Ransom Mem. Aux.
