Pamela K. “Pam” Langston, 63, passed away peacefully Monday, December 22, 2014, at her home in Ottawa, Kansas. Family will meet with friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Cremation is planned with memorial services being held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Ottawa. Pam was born December 21, 1951 in Lexington, Missouri, the daughter of John and Cora (Brosam) Jorgensen. She has been an Ottawa resident since 1975 moving from Adrian, Missouri. She graduated from Richmond, Missouri High School with the class of 1969 and continued her education at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, now known as Missouri State University, graduating in 1973 with a BA in Art Education. She later attended Ottawa University graduating in 1988 with a BS in Elementary Education. Pam was united in marriage with Don Langston December 20, 1975, in Richmond, Missouri. He survives of the home. Other family include her two daughters, Erin Myers and husband Andrew, and Amy Birkey and husband Justin all of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Judy Strickland and husband Garland of Independence, Missouri; two brothers, Johnny Jorgensen and wife Stacey of Nixa, Missouri, and Jeff Jorgensen and wife Judy of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Jude and Piper Myers and Leah Brikey. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pam was an art teacher in Richmond, Missouri, from 1973 to 1974, Adrian, Missouri, from 1974 to 1975 and at Central Heights, from 1977 to 1980. She began teaching 2nd grade at Lincoln Elementary, from 1989 to 2011. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS) of Wellsville, Kansas. Pam was an avid reader, she also enjoyed oil painting, gardening with her husband, antiquing with her daughters, fishing, looking at antique cars and being near the ocean. Her greatest joy was playing and being with her grandchildren. Pam will be deeply missed and remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
