Otis Guy Bosley Jr. age 94 died March 4th 2011 at North Point Nursing Facility in Paola, Kansas where he had been since breaking his hip on January 4th, 2011. Otis was born March 23rd, 1916, to Otis Guy Bosley Sr. and Esther Maude (Foster) Bosley in Exchange, West Virginia. He was the second of six sons in the family. His schooling was in Exchange, West Virginia where he lived until being inducted into the Army in March 1942. He served three years in the 82nd Airborne, 194th Glider Infantry, seeing action in Africa, Sicily, Italy, Ireland, England, Wales, France, Scotland, Holland, Belgium, Germany and flying in a glider at the Normandy invasion during World War Two. He was honorably discharged in 1945, having been awarded a Good Conduct Medal, The European-African Middle-Eastern Service Ribbon and Distinguished Unit Badge. After being discharged from the army he moved to Kansas City, Kansas where he met and married Alice Maxine Brecheisen. They became the parents of one daughter, Linda Jean Bosley. They lived in Ohio, West Virginia and Kansas City before moving to Ozark, Arkansas where Otis owned and operated a Coast to Coast hardware store, worked for the Ozark City school system and used his carpentry skills to build custom cabinetry and a beautiful home for his family. Otis was an active member in the First Presbyterian Church of Ozark, an avid fisherman and outdoors-man, a member and supporter of the Ozark Arkansas Lyons Club for 23 years, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a lifetime member of the VFW. Four years after the death of Alice, Otis and Linda moved to Paola, Kansas in 2003 to be closer to extended family. Shortly after the move they transferred their membership to the First Presbyterian Church of Paola. Otis is survived by his daughter, Linda Jean Bosley of Paola, Kansas, his brother, Glen Bosley of Bradenton, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Alice, his parents Guy and Esther Bosley, four brothers, James William, Vinton Lee, Roy Adrian and Homer Carl and their spouses. Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Paola Kansas.
