He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He was employed at Sheldon`s International Harvester in Ottawa in the 1950`s and 1960`s. In the 1960`s and 1970`s, he was employed by Ottawa Bus Service. Mr. Baker served in the United States Army Infantry during World War II, stationed in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Lawrence, former member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa, and attended Bible Baptist Church, Ottawa. On December 20, 1958, Warren was united in marriage with Effie May Evans at Ottawa, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 23, 1999. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Heritage Baptist Church, Lawrence, Kansas, 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005. Committal services will be held at Highland Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Scott Hanks. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Baker at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the Dengel & Son Mortuary, where the family will meet with friends 7:00 to 8:00 Monday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Heritage Baptist Church or Bible Baptist, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
