Opal Mae Phillips was born March 21, 1905, at Trenton, Missouri. She was the daughter of Fred and Elva Rhetta (McKeen) Slater. Opal moved from Kansas City in 1943, to Ottawa, where she made her home until her death Thursday, April 25, 2002, at the age of ninety-seven years. She was a lifelong homemaker. Opal grew up in the Christian Chruch. She was united in marriage with W.J. Phillips at Trenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1973 She is survived by her daughter, Frances Jean.Bealmer of Ottawa; one grandson, Michael Bealmer, of Ottawa; one grandaughter, Nancy Nunn of Bonner Springs, Kansas; three great-grandaughters, Michele Altendorf, of Ottawa, Kimberly Diane Shipp of Tallahassee, Florida, Christina Davison of Olathe; and two two great-great-grandchildren, Emma Altendorf of Ottawa, Marshall Henry Altendorf of Ottawa. She is preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: Graveside services and inurment will be held at a letter date at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS: B.
