Edwards, 77, of Ottawa, Kansas died on Friday, July 4, 2008, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa, Kansas. She was the daughter of Jasper and Winifred (Gray) Johnson. She was born on Thursday, April 16, 1931, in Ottawa, Kansas. RESIDENCE HISTORY: She was a lifelong Ottawa resident. EDUCATION: Onetta graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1950. OCCUPATION & BUSINESS: She worked as a seamstress for Mode O`Day and H. D. Lee, and in the deli at Country Mart, all in Ottawa. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a member of Bethany Chapel Baptist Church of Ottawa. MARRIAGE: Onetta was united in marriage with Lewis Edwards. They later divorced. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Bethany Chapel Baptist Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008, where family will meet with friends at 9:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the funeral services. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Onetta at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday. CEMETERY: Hope Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
