Nicky Jones, 57, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, at the University of Kansas Health System. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 22, 2018, at Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville, Kansas. Nick was born January 19, 1961, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Franklin and Sandra (Fiehler) Jones. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He graduated from Wellsville High School with the class of 1979. Nick was united in marriage to Rhonda Weatherbie-McLouth in July 1987. From this marriage they had their son Kyle but later divorced. He later had a common law marriage with Mindy Pooler having a son Brandon. They separated after seven years. Survivors include his mother, Sandra Jones of Ottawa; partner, Jolyn Wendt of Baldwin; two children, Kyle Jones and wife Ashley of Ottawa and Brandon Jones of Ulysses; two brothers, Marty Jones of Ottawa and Rick Jones and wife Carole of Baldwin City; and three grandchildren, Kaden, Jase and Makenna. Nick was employed at Ottawa Truck for 12 years from 1985 to 1997. He later worked at Miller Construction in Kansas City from 1997 until being purchased by InfraSource where he continued working until 2015. He attended Hope Anthem Church in Ottawa, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything outdoors.
