Nick E. Cottle, age 74, of rural Paola, Kansas passed away February 27, 2021 at Olathe Hospice House. Nick was born November 18, 1946 at Mound Valley, Kansas to Glen L. and Wilma Darlene (Hammond) Cottle. He attended Rosedale High School in Kansas City, Kansas. On September 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Linda Morris and they became the parents of three children. They made their home in Kansas City until the mid '70s. They moved to Merriam until 1984 when they moved to Paola. He served his country with the United States Army in the 1960s. Nick worked in the automotive sales department at M & W Auto Parts and then Western Auto in Kansas City, Missouri. It was in January of 1999 that he left his employment with Western Auto due to an automobile accident that left him disabled. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed computer work. He was known as "Mr. Fix It." People came to him to get their cars repaired quite often. He liked music, the oldies but especially country music. He also liked to watch western shows. One of his greatest joys was the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; his children Richard (Lisa Kloppenborg), Pam Holtz (George), and Staci Myers (Brad) all of Paola; and his siblings Earl of Paola, Glenna Wise of El Dorado, KS, Cheryl Charles of Wichita, Patricia Hyatt of Osawatomie, and Robert Shoopman of Wichita; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. The family will be having a Celebration of Life for Nick at a later date. Family and friends are encouraged to post their memories and condolences on Nick's tribute wall.
