Nellie Brewer McCoy age 100 of Paola passed away March 31 at the Life Care Center in Osawatomie, Ks Memorials to First Lutheran Church Childrens Fund. Nellie was born on Nov. 17, 1910 in Louisburg KS. to Thuda Russell and Carrie Nell Wright Brewer. She grew up and lived all of her life in Miami County. On July 7, 1930 she was united in marriage to Buster Murton McCoy in Kansas City, Kansas . They lived in Louisburg until 1940 when they moved to Paola. Together Nellie and Buster had 6 children. She was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for many years at the local Garment Manufacturing Company. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, fishing, hunting, gardening, spending time with family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Eagles Auxiliary. Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons Buster and Kenneth and 5 grandchildren, 9 Brothers and 3 Sisters. Surviving are dau. Nellie Louise Brandt and husband Buck of Paola, son Harold Eugene McCoy and wife Joyce of Mattoon Ill. dau. Adelaide Herline Masenthin and husband Bob of Paola, son Lester Virgil McCoy and wife Gail of Mapleton KS. 22 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 2 dau-inlaws Ruby Farley of Burlinton, KS and June McCoy of Paola, 1 Brother Henry Brewer of Shell Knob MO., and 1 Sister Pauline Mitchell and husband Bill of Nowater OK.
