Nellie Mae Redick, 58, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M., Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Lighthouse Community Church of God. Inurnment will be held later at Cottonwood Cemetery, Bryson, Texas. Nellie was born July 28, 1960, in Graham, Texas, the daughter of Robert Lee and Sally Mae (Rhodes) Dunlap. She grew up in Graham moving in 1997 to Bryson, Texas. In 2014, Nellie moved to Ottawa where she made her home until her death. She attended school in Graham, Texas. Survivors include her son, Chad Redick of McAlester, Oklahoma; four siblings, Patsy Roberts and husband Danny of Ottawa, Barbara Dunlap of Graham, Texas, Auther Dunlap of Graham, and Larry Dunlap also of Graham; and thirty great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sally Dunlap and brother, Eugene Dunlap. Nellie was employed as a waitress at Cotton’s in Bryson, Texas, and worked in the deli at Price Chopper in Ottawa. She sold Mary Kay cosmetics and was very proud that she could help women look prettier. She also sold Tupperware and enjoyed holding home parties. She attended Lighthouse Community Church of God in Ottawa. Nellie loved to cook and spend time with her sister’s grandchildren considering them as her own. The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County Cancer Foundation c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
