Naomi Mccullough

Naomi L. McCullough, 87, died on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24, 2011) at Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar, MN. She was born on March 5, 1924 at the farmhouse in rural Beagle, Kansas to Roy and Edna (Baird) Smith. She met Harry P. McCullough Jr. and married in 1945 after he had returned from World War II. They resided in Osawatomie, KS until the early 50s. Naomi"s faith, family and work ethic was always a consistent driving force throughout her life. She attended and was active in the Assemblies of God churches in Osawatomie, Paola, Wichita and Newton. She spent several years working for the Miami County Bank in Paola and the Midland National Bank in Newton, retiring as an Assistant Cashier in 1990 after 29 years of service. She resided in Paola after her retirement, keeping busy in the church and with the Foster Grandparent program at a local grade school until ill health set in and assisted living was in order. Naomi is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, H. Paul and Fran McCullough of Willmar, MN; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Kenneth Wescott of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Donald Smith of Garnett, KS; a step-sister-in-law, Maedeen Hodgson of Eureka, KS; two grandchildren, Joseph McCullough of Wichita, KS and Maria McCullough of St. Paul, MN; many nieces and nephews; and friends from wherever the McCulloughs lived during her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother, step-father, and step-brother. Cross Point Assemby of God Church, 1016 N.
