Nancy Lea Sanders

Nancy Lea Sanders, age 60, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Ottawa, died Monday, September 26, 2011, at Westwood Manor Nursing Home in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on Friday, April 13, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Michael Francis and Alberta Mary (Meyer) Wolfe. She was a resident of Topeka since February of 2008, moving from Ottawa. She lived most of her adult life in Georgia and Kansas. Nancy graduated from Addison Trail High School in Addison, Illinois, with the class of 1970. She was a Certified Nurse’s Aide, working at a variety of facilities in Georgia and in this area, including Olathe and Ottawa. Nancy served in the United States Army from September of 1970 to March of 1972, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church while living in Ottawa. On Saturday, March 6, 1971, Nancy was united in marriage with Lewis E. Sanders, Jr. in Fort Gordon, Georgia. They were later divorced. She is survived by her: Son-Michael Lewis Sanders Son-Christopher Alan Sanders Son-Shaun Jacob Sanders Sister-Jessica Harkins and her husband, Dennis, of Ottawa Sister-Michele Farr and her husband, Tom, of Ottawa Sister-Denise Wolfe of Abilene, Texas Grandchildren-Several Nephews-Jason Farr and Joshua Farr Her loving pet dog, Angel She was preceded in death by her: Parents-Michael Francis and Alberta Mary Wolfe Sister-Gloria Jean Wolfe Infant Brother-Mitchell SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. VISITATION: A Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary followed by family and friends visitation from 7:00 to 8:00. CEMETERY: Mt.
