Nancy Jean Simmons

Nancy Jean (Dibben) Simmons, 79, of Brighton Colorado, died Thursday, September 7, 2023 at home. She was born January 24, 1944, in Missouri, the daughter of Bruce R. and Dorothy D. (Czajkowski) Dibben.

Visitation will be held at 9:30 am, Monday, September 25, 2023, at Dengel & Son Mortuary – Louisburg Chapel, 1 Aquatic Dr., Louisburg, Kansas 66053. Funeral service will take place at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at the Louisburg Cemetery.

She grew up in Louisburg, Kansas before she met and married the love of her life, Gary R. Simmons on February 3, 1962.

Nancy is survived by two children, Sherri L. (Eric) Priest, Brighton, CO, and Robert A. (Lori) Simmons, Easton, KS; one brother, Gary A. (Judy) Dibben, Louisburg, KS; seven grandchildren, Cody and Tyler Priest, Michele Brown, Brad Simmons, Kevin and Jeffrey Sloan and Chad Bailey; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, Helen Czajkowski; husband, Gary R. Simmons; and brother, Marvin. R. Dibben.

It was very important to Nancy that she spent time together when her children were growing up. In the 1960’s and 1970’s, they were Chiefs season ticket holders, creating many memories every year. Nancy also rode in the American Royal Parade and loved to play cards.
