Nancy J. Honn

Nancy Jane Honn, 59, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, at Olathe Medical Center. Family will meet with friends from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Dengel and Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS, 66071 followed by the funeral service at noon. Interment will take place in Debrick Cemetery, rural Miami County, Kansas. Nancy was born Monday, December 11, 1961, in Paola, KS, the daughter of Leonard and Katherine (Monthey) Brandt. She graduated from Paola High School with the Class of 1980. Nancy was united in marriage to George Honn on June 25, 1988 at Paola. They made their home in Paola and raised their three children Richard, Shane, and Samantha. Nancy worked at Johnson County Courthouse as a clerk for 17 years from 2004 until her retirement in March of 2021. She volunteered for the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 156 serving as District 2 Historian, audit committee member, vice president and membership chairman, District 2 Poppy Chairman, Poppy Poster chairman, and also chaired various unit committees and was a mentor to many. She was a member of the American Legion Riders Chapter 156. She LOVED riding her motorcycle! She also enjoyed quilting, But most of all, she loved spoiling her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband George; two sons Richard Honn and Shane (Crissy) Honn; daughter Samantha (Stephen) Rockers; brother Darrell (Barb) Brandt; sister Darleen (Earl) Medlin; seven grandchildren Zoie, Austin, Josiah, Nicholas, Delylah, Gavin, and Grayson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Katherine Brandt, brother Leonard Brandt, and father- and mother-in-law Murel and Charlotte Honn.
