Nancy Carol Thompson

Nancy Thompson, 78, passed away on April 24, 2021. A Private ceremony will be held at the gravesite. Please join our family and friends for a celebration of life on June 5, 2021 from 2:00pm to 4pm at the Elks Club on 114 W 2nd Street. If you have any pictures or would like to write a memory, a thought, how you knew Nancy and how she might have impacted you or others, please bring to this celebration. These pictures and words will be a great comfort and will be treasured by our family and friends. Nancy was a kind, gentle soul that always took care of everyone. She always seemed to know what a person needed and helped without judgement. Nancy was born December 10, 1942 to Edith and John “Bill” Taylor. She had three siblings, Shirley “Joan” Eighmey, Maureen Thompson, and John Taylor. Nancy graduated from Ottawa High School in 1960 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Thompson. You often saw them still holding hands after 59 years of marriage. They have one daughter, Suzanne “Evette” Parker, son-in-law, Moe Parker, two grandsons, Cory Richards and Nevall Parker and four great grandkids. Nancy was co-owner of the Clothes Hanger boutique which provided fashionable clothing for a lot of us in Ottawa and was a great place to hang out and visit with her. Nancy worked at Walmart for many years. She worked at the Franklin County Jail until she retired after 12 years. Her gentleness worked well, and many called her Grandma. Rest peacefully and without pain. So many people love you. We will see you again and will gladly accept a big hug, the joy of your laugh and taking all our chips from beating us at cards. She would say “Love you to infinity.” We would say “Love you more.”
