Mona Lammers

February 10, 1940 — July 3, 2015

Ramona "Mona" G. Lammers Mona Gail Lammers, 75, passed away July 3, 2015 at her home in Paola after a five year long medical condition. Mona was born February 10, 1940, the daughter of Lloyd and Mary Senogles Hudson in Topeka, Kansas. She attended Topeka High School. It was there that she was on the 9th grade cheerleading squad. After finishing school, Mona married, and then gave birth to two daughters Kimberlee Ann in 1959 and Kelly Ann in 1963. She later divorced. On September 1, 1973 Mona married Jake Lammers, her soulmate and love of her life. And with Jake came a step-son Kent. As a family we enjoyed yearly vacations, camping in a motor home, to the top of Pikes Peak, CO. Mona never got over her fear of heights. In later years Mona and Jake enjoyed vacations to Arizona, Las Vegas, and a dream trip to Hawaii. Mona was very proud of her accomplishments in life. In early years she was a dental hygienist and a sales manager for a large mobile home park in Topeka. It was in 1986 that Jake"s UPS job relocated them to the Paola area near Hillsdale Lake. They built their dream house for the expanding family of 3 granddaughters and 4 grandsons; and now 3 great grandsons and 7 great granddaughters. Mona loved to gather the family in for all the holidays. Mona had a variety of interests. An avid sports fan she loved her Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawk basketball. She also loved to watch Nascar Racing with Jake. She enjoyed arts and crafts, planting flowers and trees on their land, and sitting on the deck watching the wildlife all around her as she was a huge animal lover. Mona was a beautiful woman and for over 25 years was an Avon representative and liked to treat herself every week with a trip to the beauty shop. Mona"s faith in the Lord was very important to her. For over 40 years she was involved in the Lutheran Ministries and both Mona and Jake are members of First Lutheran Church in Paola. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Lee Hudson, and former husband Randall Reeves. Memorial contributions may be made to Dream Factory of Greater Kansas City in care of the funeral home.
