Mitchell Ketzner

Mitchell Jerome Ketzner, 53, Paola, died unexpectedley on Sunday, April 3. Mitch was born on January 31, 1958 to Dr. James and Peggy Ketzner in St. Francis, Kansas. They moved to Shawnee in 1966, where he graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 1975. He married Lisa Williams in 1983. They had a daughter and a son. Mitch enjoyed bird hunting trips with his son and friends, being outdoors, whether it was mowing the yard or grilling out, raising dogs and spending time with family, especially his granddaughter. Mitch was employed at Aristocrat Motors in Merriam, KS. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles. Suriviors are his wife Lisa Ketzner of Paola, daughter Lacey and husband David Kane of Paola, son Tyler Ketzner of Euless, Texas, one granddaughter Claire Kane of Paola, three brothers Greg of Kansas City, Missouri, Doug of Overland Park, Kansas,Curt of Overland Park, Kansas, sister Kim Kudlacik of Overland Park, Kansas, sister Debbie Ketzner of Shawnee, Kansas, father Dr. James Ketzner of Ness City, Kansas, and mother Peggy Ketzner of Shawnee, Kansas. Vistitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at Penwell-Gabel Chapel in Paola, Kansas. Funeral services for Mitch will be held at the First Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Paola following the services.
