Mildred Hume 'Mid' Gibson was born Saturday, October 12, 1927, at St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Sam and Maude (DeVilbiss) Hume. A lifelong resident, Mid made her home in Ottawa, until her death Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at the age of seventy-seven years. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1945. On June 29, 1947, she was united in marriage with Dudley Gibson in Ottawa. He resides at Ottawa Retirement Village. Mid held various jobs in the Ottawa community but was first and foremost a homemaker. Most recently she worked as a pharmacy assistant at Clinic Pharmacy in Ottawa. Mid was a member of the First Methodist Church, the United Methodist Church Bell Choir, United Methodist Women, P.A.T.H., Oxford Service Forum Sunday School Class, and E.H.U. all of Ottawa. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a former Brownie and Cub Scout leader. She is survived by her husband; daughter and son-in-law, Sally & Steve LaPrad, Pratt, Kansas; son and daughter-in-law, Phil & Claudia Gibson, Ottawa, Kansas; son and daughter-in-law, W.B. & Barb Gibson, Ottawa, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law, Julie & Mike Adams, Edmond, Oklahoma; sister, Dorothy Manchester, Ottawa, Kansas; brother, Joe Hume, Topeka, Kansas; Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Gibson is preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: Memorial funeral services will be held from the First United Methodist Church, 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2005. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev.
