Mildred "Frances" Barnes, age 91, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away October 2, 2012 at the Rehab Center of Raymore, Missouri. Frances was born November 25, 1920 in Drexel, Missouri to Robert Elton and Opal (Holy) Masterson. She grew up in Paola, Kansas and graduated from Paola High School in 1938. Frances was united in marriage to Harley Ray Barnes at Lawrence, Kansas in December of 1939. She has lived in the Kansas City area most of her life and was employed as an office assistant for Universal Underwriters Insurance for many years before her retirement in 1982. She enjoyed traveling and family celebrations. Preceeding her in death were her parents, husband Harley, two brothers Merle and Charles Masterson, one sister Thelma Sybrant, and two great grandchildren David Allen and Jennifer Allen. Survivors are her daughters Sandra Pittser and her husband Glenn of Belton, Missouri and Shirley Allen and her husband Dale of Peculiar, Missouri; 5 grandchildren Timothy Pittser, Charles Pittser, James Allen, Debra Burton, and Kevin Allen; and 11 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Raymore Rehabilitation Center for the excellent and compassionate care given to their mother and grandmother for the past 10 years.
