Milburn Frederick Prothe, 80, of Paola, passed away on November 3, 2014 at North Point Skilled Nursing. Memorials are suggested to the Paola Fire Department. Milburn was born on August 25, 1934, in Paola, Kansas to George and Corrine (Prothe) Prothe. As a youth, Milburn worked for Ted Alpert as a farm hand. Milburn spent six years with Army Reserve in Osawatomie, Kansas. He worked as an auto mechanic for over 30 years for Bob"s Automotive in Paola. He also worked as a camp host at Lake Miola, was a fire fighter for 29 years with the Paola Fire Department and as Assistant Chief for many years and was a part time policeman for the Paola Police Department. On April 1, 1995 he married Linda Harclerode Stallbaumer in Paola, Kansas. Milburn enjoyed fishing, camping with his son and spending time with family and friends, he never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his father, George Prothe, mother, Corrine Prothe, and twin brother Milton, nephew Bill Stringham. Milburn is survived by his loving wife, Linda; son Brett (Brenda)Prothe; two sisters, Laverne (Jim)Stringham and Janet(Ray) England; brother Arlin( Venita) Prothe; two grandchildren Brooklynn Prothe and Brayden Prothe and many nieces and nephews.
