Mike E. Jensen, Sr., 68, of Rantoul, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 8, 2015, at the mortuary. Mike was born Monday, May 26, 1947, in Kansas City, the son of Ed and Nada (Shields) Jensen. He lived in Lenexa, Kansas, before moving to Rantoul, where he lived for thirty-eight years. He graduated from Stanley High School, Stanley, Kansas, with the class of 1965, and continued his education at Pittsburg State College studying electrical engineering. Mike was united in marriage with Linda Manson June 18, 1965, in Olathe, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his four grandchildren, Clay Kirkland, Michael Jensen III, Ryan Jensen, and Blake Jensen; great-grandson, Bentley Kirkland; three children, Cheri Nutt and husband Jeff of Richmond, Michael Jensen II and wife Stacey of Ottawa, and Dick Jensen of Frisco, Texas; mother-in-law, Maxine Manson; mother, Nada Jensen of Sun City, Arizona; four siblings, Ed Jensen and wife Barb of Sun City, Arizona, Nada Nott and husband Terry of Overland Park, Kansas, Patty Anderson of Stillwell, Kansas, and Danny Jensen and wife Sue of Kansas City, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Jensen; father-in-law, Owen Manson; grandparents, Walt and Marie Shields, and Ed and Jen Jensen. Mike was employed by ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas in Lenexa, as an elevator constructor for thirty-six years, working out of Kansas, Missouri, and Las Vegas, Nevada, retiring June 2003. He was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #12 in Kansas City, Missouri, and the National Wildlife Turkey Federation. Mike will be remembered as a kind and caring man who loved, supported and cared for his family throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, collecting antique cars, guns and important junk.
