Michelle Renay Johnson

Michelle Renay Johnson, daughter of Michael Sr. and Dianna Bowman Swinehart was born on November 28, 1976 in Garnett, Kansas. Michelle departed this earthly life at 47 years old on December 16, 2023 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Michelle attended Paola High School and received her GED in 1996. Michelle married Vince Johnson in 1995 and had her son, Andrew Johnson, in 1997. After 18 years of marriage, Michelle and Vincent divorced but remained friends. Michelle was known for her love of her cats and her family, her no nonsense attitude, and her love of bringing joy to those around her. Michelle’s compassion and love for others will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Michelle is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Frankie Bowman and Earl and Maxine Staley, and her paternal grandparents, Daniel and Irene Lindell Swinehart.

Michelle will be remembered in the hearts of those that survive her: her son, Andrew Johnson, her parents, Michael Sr. and Dianna Swinehart, her brother, Michael Jr. and sister-in-law Alexandria Swinehart, her niece, Alicia Hampton, her boyfriend, Ryan Sounders and his Daughter, Ivy Sounders, long time friend, Vincent Johnson, and many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A graveside service only will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Goodrich Cemetery in Goodrich, Kansas. The family has requested casual dress.
