Michael Ray Langston, age 51, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away in his home May 6, 2017. He was born August 22, 1965 in Des Moines, Iowa to Kerry Langston and Marilyn Brown Langston. He was a high school graduate of Newton Senior High School and graduated with an Associate’s degree in Diesel Mechanics from Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, Iowa. He really enjoyed watching and learning about history. He was very talented in fixing things such as computers and vehicles. He loved to fly. He had his own single seat airplane in which he flew in his free time. He also enjoyed motorcycle racing. One thing he loved to do is cook. Getting together with everyone for the family cook offs every few months was his favorite. He loved to try new recipes and make his famous homemade ice cream. His family favorite was the coffee flavored homemade ice cream. Another thing he loved in life was his grandchildren. Seeing his two grandchildren brightened his day more than anything. Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother Coleen Brown. He is survived by his parents Kerry Langston of Phoenix, Arizona, Marilyn Langston of Shawnee, Kansas, his grandpa Marion Brown of Paola, Kansas, his brothers Trevor (Karla) Langston of Plano, Texas, Jason Langston of Kansas City, Kansas, his daughter Lindsay (Hunter) Locke of Paola, Kansas, his two grandchildren Oakleigh and Talon Locke, his aunts Brenda (David) Hallstrom of Paola, Kansas, Mary (Bill) Melton of Woodbury, Tennessee and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
